Anna Nicole Smith....

Others found her offensive but I found her adorable. And she truely did live a life in the Valley of the Dolls, and it destroyed her.

We'll miss you Anna....

I'm sure you all knew that Judy Garland was originally going to be cast as "Helen" in the VOD movie (ironyyyy)... Here are a couple links to related videos via Youtube.

"Judy hadn't read "Valley" and was in for a big surprise once shooting started. This will probably be deleted, but yes... the rumors of Jackie Susann and Judy having a brief fling were accurate. According to Jackie's husband, out of pity, Jackie gave Judy $800. Neither Jackie nor her husband ever publicly admitted the truth- that much of "Valley" was about Judy."

Don't know how you all feel about newbie posts...

...but I'm posting one so I don't feel like I'm sitting (in a manner of speaking) amongst strangers.

My name is Whitney by the way, but you can call me Whit if you like.

I just recently finished reading Valley of The Dolls for the first time a couple of weeks ago. I finished it in three days. I couldn't put it down! Jaqueline Susann is an amazing writer. I'm interested in seeing the movie...this may seem like a silly question...but does Blockbuster carry it, or will I have to hunt it down?

Anyway, happy to be here, and hope to make some new friends along the way!
